Moesgaard is an archaeological and anthropological museum located in the beautiful landscape in Højbjerg to the south of Aarhus. Here you can experience both the past and present of humans through world-class staged and dramatized stories.
Our exhibitions build on the latest research and technology and combine actual objects with sensory, atmospheric worlds, which bring history to life and create a sense of being present amongst the people who once lived.
In our Iron Age exhibition, you can come close to the world’s best-preserved bog body. Grauballe Man lived more than 2,000 years ago, when he was killed and probably sacrificed to the gods. The unusual composition of the bog has since preserved him with his skin, hair and nails intact – as if time has stood still.
You can gaze at Grauballe Man from almost all angles in his glass display case at the museum – a fascinating look back on our own distant past, which captivates both children and adults.
