Find your way

By car

Moesgaard is located on Moesgaard Allé 15 in Højbjerg to the south of Aarhus. Turn from Oddervej into Moesgaard Allé c. 1 km south of the city limit.

Buses and lorries have to drive along Ny Moesgårdvej via Oddervej/Emiliedalsvej, as heavy traffic is prohibited on Moesgaard Allé.

Google Maps driving directions

By bus

City bus number 18 runs from Aarhus city centre (Park Allé/Banegårdspladsen) directly to Moesgaard. The journey takes around 25 minutes and requires a two-zone ticket.

You can also take regional bus number 100 to Oddervej and walk the last attractive kilometre along Moesgård Allé.

By bicycle

If you cycle from central Aarhus, the distance to Moesgaard is c. 9 km. You can cycle along Oddervej using the cycle lane or take the atmospheric route through the Marselisborg forests. There is parking for bicycles close to the entrance to the exhibition building.

Parking

You can park your car for free and without a time limit at Moesgaard. There are parking spaces both directly opposite the exhibition building and at the foot of it. Use the free lockers at the museum to store your bags and valuables.

Parking for disabled guests

Disabled parking is located just outside the main entrance with clear signage. People who find walking difficult and wheelchair users have easy access to the main entrance: if you drive to the end of the road alongside the exhibition building, turn down the path to the ramp and drop off your passengers.

As this is a route used in case of fire, you must then park your car in the car park.

We are always ready to help if you have any questions.

Bus parking

The parking area for buses is located in the uppermost parking area opposite the exhibition building.

Charging electric cars

Electric cars can be charged in the car park at the foot of the exhibition building, where we have installed eight type 2/22kW chargers. You can download and use the Monta Charge app if you need to charge your vehicle.

You can pay with either the MobilePay app or credit card if you register as a user in the app.

Using the card function in the app, find Moesgaard, select the relevant charger and then start charging.

Accessibility

Wheelchairs and rollators

The museum is fully accessible with elevators in all exhibition sections (width 90 cm, depth 140-45 cm). You can borrow a wheelchair or rollator by contacting  ticket information – unfortunately, we cannot reserve them in advance.

There are disabled toilets in all toilet facilities.

We are always ready to help if you have any questions.

Companion card

Helpers are admitted to Moesgaard for free with companion cards.

Prams

The museum is accessible with prams, but for the best experience we recommend that you borrow a pushchair at the museum or use a carrying sling. You can place the pram in the large cloakroom in the basement (at your own risk).
